VIT-AP University hosted International Conference on Applications of Fluid Dynamics

VIT-AP University based in Amaravati, hosted fifth International Conference on Applications of Fluid Dynamics (ICAFD) on 13th to 15th December. The 5th ICAFD virtual conference cocluded successfully on 15th Decemebr.

This Virtual Conference named ICAFD-2020 which is the fifth International Conference in the series aims to establish a premier International forum that brought together the Scientists, Engineers and Industrial experts to present the latest achievements and innovations in the areas of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics to discuss path-breaking developments and challenges, in order to select potential directions for the future.

“ICAFD 2020 invited resource persons from abroad (USA, Australia, UAE, Singapore, South Africa, etc.) and reputed Universities (IIT, NIT, VIT, Central University) from India for their invited talk”.

The conference is the result of a long collaborative effort between the School of Mechanical Engineering, VIT-AP University and the Department of Mechanical Engineering Science, University of Johannesburg, South Africa. In a welcome address, Vice-Chancellor Dr. S. V. Kota Reddy welcomes Founder and Chancellor Dr. G. Viswanathan, VIT University, invited speaker and all the participants from India and abroad. Dr. S.V. Kota Reddy highlighted the role of the conference for the intellectual growth of an individual, followed by the importance of applications aspects of fluid dynamics influencing our daily life.

“Dr. Pankaj Tambe, Chairperson of the conference said that 175 participants are registered for the conference.  More than hundred participants submitted their papers. 25 participants from the USA, Canada, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Malaysia, UAE, Singapore, West Indies, Australia submitted papers and the rest of the papers are from different states of India which includes IIT’s, NIT’s, Central Universities, etc”. 

The conference inaugural address was given by Dr. R. Paneer Selvam, University of Arkansas, USA. He highlighted the important challenges a fluid dynamics researcher has to work in near future for the advancement of this area. Dr. G. Viswanathan, Chancellor VIT University praises the School of Mechanical Engineering, VIT-AP University for organising the conference during the pandemic that has struck the world.

Dr. S. Srinivas, Co-Chair, and Convenor of the conference highlighted the objectives.  There are 10 invited talks by speakers across the globe (USA, Australia, UAE, Singapore, South Africa, etc.) and the other 10 invited talks by speakers from India who are associated with reputed institutes and universities.

Dr. C.L.V. Sivakumar, Registrar, VIT-AP University presented the vote of thanks during the inaugural function. He praised the efforts taken by Dr. S. Srinivas, Dr. Pankaj Tambe, Dr. Mohanty, Dr. SatyanarayanaBadeti, Dr. Amit, Dr. V. R. Reddy, Mr. S. Karthikeyan of VIT-AP University, and Dr. J Prakash of University of Johannesberg, South Africa for successfully arranging the conference.

Dr.Pradeep.S.Siddeswar, Christ University and Dr.S.Sreenadh, Sri Venkateswara University summarised the entire three day programme and gave their suggestions to young researchers in the valedictory function.
