Norwegian biometric authentication technology company Zwipe (Euronext Growth Oslo:ZWIPE) is to provide its Zwipe Pay ONE platform to Indian payment card manufacturer KL HI-TECH, the company revealed on Tuesday.
KL HI-TECH has selected the Zwipe platform to deliver biometric payment cards to its clients in India and international markets.
Under the agreement, Zwipe will provide biometric technology and technical services to enable KL HI-TECH to manufacture Zwipe Pay ONE test cards from the second quarter of 2021. The partners are currently engaging with issuers in India with the aim of launching pilots from the third quarter of 2021 and supporting the first full market launches towards the end of this year.
Founded in 1988, KL HI-TECH currently delivers around 50 million cards per year, of which approximately 30 million are payment cards, serving banks in India and abroad.
