Bangalore, 14th December 2023: Swati Maini, Founder and CEO of Maini Renewables Pvt Ltd., was honoured with the Young Woman Engineer Award 2023 by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) India, a global engineering body at the forefront of innovation, advocating and leading technology adoption for positive social impact. The award was conferred for her significant contributions to the secure storage of Dry Spent Nuclear Fuel in the UK.
Swati has been recognised for her noteworthy work, encompassing collaborations with NASA on a landmark project, partnership with MIT to advance solar energy technologies, and leadership in the development of hydropower plants tailored specifically for the Indian terrain. Moreover, she actively participates in enlightening discussions at esteemed institutions such as IEEE, The National Institute of Ocean Technology, various engineering academies, and IIT Roorkee. Her involvement extends to pertinent dialogues concerning sustainable engineering practices.
Swati is also committed to promoting diversity and the empowerment of women in engineering. With extensive domain experience, she aspires to motivate and mentor young engineers, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds, encouraging them to pursue their dreams in STEM fields. Swati’s contributions to the engineering community in India and constant advocacy for women in technology make her the ideal award recipient for the IET India Young Women Engineer Award.
