Springboard launches its newest online program in UI/UX design

Springboard, India’s workforce upskilling platform enters the realm of design education by launching its newest online program in UI/UX design. With design becoming an integral part of digital transformation and technology development, Springboard aims to address the lack of formal end-to-end training and education programs in user interface and user experience design in the country. By launching this industry-first course, Springboard will aid professionals from a cross-section of disciplines to propel themselves into the field of design and interface development. Springboard’s first UI/UX design cohort has launched on March 5th, 2020.

A LinkedIn report found that UI/UX design is one of the top ten hard skills in demand for 2020, making human centered design emerge as one of the top five job areas over the next five years.  Addressing the visible gap in talent availability in the industry, Springboard, with this course on design education, provides 1:1 access to experienced industry mentors in UI/UX and aims to create a skilled design workforce in the country.  UI/UX cohorts within our design vertical is the most successful and fastest growing course globally, which encouraged the launch of the program in India.

“With over 1500-2000 UI/UX design job openings for junior designers being added each month across India, and no dedicated institution to create a skilled workforce, there is a growing need to bridge this gap. We at Springboard, are excited to launch our UI/UX design program in India to meet this palpable requirement of design education in the industry. Our new course aims to help our learners shape their design career trajectory through a structured and mentor-led curriculum. Just as India became the IT Hub of the world in the last few decades, we believe it has the potential to become the design hub of the world in the near future,” said Vivek Kumar, Managing Director of Springboard India.

Springboard’s UI/UX Design course is open to anyone with an eye for good visual design. The curriculum spans the entire gamut of design education, from the foundations of design to sketching and wireframing, to prototyping and testing. Notably, learners will be able to learn both UI and UX to build a versatile skill set required by the industry. After a nine month period of study and projects, learners will be able to demonstrate a considerable grasp of design tools and develop a design portfolio with a minimum of 3 capstone projects.
