HDFC Credila in Association With AUSTRADE Announces Winners for ‘Film Fly Experience Australia’ Competition

  • Awards Study Trips to Leading Australian Universities for the Winners

MUMBAI, April 6, 2018 :  The 4th edition of the annual Schools Video Competition, themed ‘Film Fly Experience Australia’, culminated with a grand closing ceremony, with the announcement of the winning teams of this unique competition.

Organized by The Australian Trade and Investment Commission, Australian Government in association with HDFC Credila-The Education Loan Specialist, the competition was open to students in grades 9 to 11 from schools across India. This unique annual competition gives students the opportunity to win a study trip to a leading Australian university by participating in the competition.

An objective of the competition is to broaden the horizons of Indian students and expose them to new study options to consider, particularly in fields that link to careers of the futureIt is a wonderful opportunity for Indian students to exhibit their creative talents.

The competition attracted participation from 539 school teams. Students from schools in Bangalore, New Delhi, Noida, Mumbai and Trichy have won study trips to Australian Universities as part of the Film Fly Experience Australia – Australia Future Unlimited Schools Video Competition. Awards were presented to the winners of Film Fly Experience Australia Video Competition in New Delhi.

This is the fourth consecutive year for HDFC Credila Education Loans to be associated with this prestigious and unique competition. The winners of the competition organised by the Australian Trade & Investment Commission (Austrade) in association with HDFC Credila are:

  • Cyber Security and modern threats – Tagore International School, New Delhi (Macquarie University Partner)
  • Learn Analytics: Doing Right, Doing Smart – Kothari International School, Noida (RMIT University Partner)
  • The Business of Sustainable Event Tourism in India and the Gold Coast, Australia – Trinity International School, Mumbai (Southern Cross University Partner)
  • Foods of the Future: How to feed the world with diminishing resources – Alpha Wisdom Vidyashram Senior Secondary School, Trichy (University of Queensland Partner)
  • Design a home for the future – Bangalore International School, Bangalore (University of South Australia Partner)

Students along with teachers from each of the winning schools will travel to Australia to participate in an all-expense paid student experience to the sponsoring Universities between May to July 2018. The winning teams for all the five themes will participate in a study programme with the respective sponsoring Australian University. This would also include return flight tickets for the winning teams and the accompanying teaching staff, accommodation, and other travel and living expenses in Australia for the study programme.

Speaking about the competition, Mr. Peter Coleman, Trade Commissioner, Australian Trade and Investment Commission said, “An objective of the Film Fly Experience Australia competition is to broaden the horizons of Indian students and provide them new study options to consider. The competition saw some extremely well-researched and well-made videos. It was apparent that along with the extensive research and creativity that has gone into the making of the video, the students have had fun along the way.
