Fellowship Grant to 422 Students of Resonance

KOTA, India, April 19, 2018 : In the series of glorious achievements, once again the students of Resonance showed remarkable performance in KVPY 2017 results. Total 422 students got selected from Resonance for KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojna) fellowship. KVPY is a central government fellowship, launched in 1999 to attract the talented students to pursue pure science courses and research career in science.

The Founder and Managing Director of Resonance – Mr. RK Verma said, “Out of 422 qualified students, 157 students are from Regular Classroom program and 265 students are from Resonance Distance Learning Program. Three students of Regular classroom program have secured positions in the top 10 and seven students of Regular classroom program have secured position in top 40  All India Ranks.”

Student names are as under :

In SA stream (Class XI Science) students – Saptarishi Das, Kalyani, Kanishk Singhal and Aman Gupta have secured Rank 5th, 9th, 13th and 14th respectively.

In SX stream (Class XII Science) students – Vishal N.Rav (Base, Bangalore) and Nitin Kumar Singh (Kota SC) have secured Rank 27th and 40th respectively.

In SB stream (Class XII passed) – student Nagnanda from Base, Bangalore has secured Rank 9.

Out of the total 422 selected students, 78 students are from Kota study center; 29 students are from Base study center, Bangalore; 10 students are from Udaipur Study center; five students each from Ahmedabad, Jodhpur, Mumbai and Surat Study centers; four Students from Nagpur; three students from Jaipur; two students each from Rajkot and Agra; one student each from Chandrapur, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Gwalior, Indore, Nasik, Raipur and Thiruvanantpuram are eligible to get KVPY fellowship.

Mr. Verma informed that KVPY exam is meant for the students of Class 11th and 12th. Minimum 80% is required for General Category in 10th Boards and 70% for SC, ST and OBC, to be eligible for this exam.

The objective of the program (KVPY) is to identify students with talent and aptitude for research; help them realize their academic potential; encourage them to take up research careers in Science, and ensure the growth of the best scientific minds for research and development in the country. This is a remarkable program as students who qualify for KVPY scholarship program shall be receiving scholarship till their post-graduation for pursuing basic Science courses and research career in Science. Students must also secure 60% for General Category in XIIth Boards and 50% for SC, ST and Physically Disabled students. Students will be vouchsafed a scholarship of Rs. 5,000 every month in the three-year tenure of B.Sc. and Rs. 7,000 every month during the two years of M.Sc. Apart from the aforementioned scholarship, students are entitled for a grant of Rs. 20,000 every year during their graduation and Rs. 28,000 every year during their post-graduation.
