SAYBROOK — The Ashtabula County Technical and Career Campus celebrated its 2024 graduates on Friday night at Lakeside High School.
The gymnasium was packed for the occasion.
Participating high schools were Conneaut, Edgewood, Geneva, Grand Valley, Jefferson, Lakeside, Pymatuning and Saint John.
“We have a fantastic group of graduates,” said A-Tech Superintendent Scott Wludyga. “We’re so proud of what they’ve been able to accomplish in their career technical programs. We just love to see the way our students blossom from the time they come to campus and spend two years in a career technical program and see them really gain the skills that’s going to give them a competitive advantage for the future.”
Graduating students said that these programs have given them the confidence to prosper in the workforce.
“I think A-Tech has been the best thing to happen to me,” said A-Tech student Ticey Carr.
“We all came here for an advantage. We knew by coming here we would be set up for a good job and have a set plan for when we graduate. Being here on this stage, I feel more confident than I’ve ever been about my future.”
“As we embark on the next chapter of our lives, let’s carry with us the the knowledge, skills and experiences we’ve gained here,” said A-Tech student Marissa Flowers.
“Let’s take the lessons we’ve learned and the friendships we’ve made and use them to propel ourselves forward.”
“The first thing I want to say is congratulations and that I’m proud of each any every one of you,” said A-Tech student Kallee Jodon.
“We chose to better our futures and our career paths by coming to A-Tech. Thank you for making the last years of high school memorable.”
A-Tech Principal Paul Brockett wanted to wish the graduates a warm send off.
“It’s a culmination of two years of hard work for all of the seniors,” he said.
“I hope they’re able to pursue their dreams, wether that’s going onto college, going out and getting a job … I hope they’re able to follow through with their dreams.”
