Wardha, November 1, 2026:
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said that the Multi-Modal Logistics Park being developed at Sindi Railway would boost direct exports to international markets through Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority and create employment opportunities for local residents.
The project is being developed by National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML), a special purpose vehicle of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), through AMARA TRANZ Solution. The bhoomipujan ceremony of the project was held at Sindi Railway today in the presence of Guardian Minister Dr. Pankaj Bhoyar, MLA Sameer Kunawar, District Collector Vanmathi C, former MP Ramdas Tadas and Sindi Railway Municipal Council President Rani Kalode, among others.
Gadkari said the Multi-Modal Logistics Park would facilitate the direct export of cotton, cotton lint, yarn, oranges and vegetables from Vidarbha to international markets through Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority. The project would also reduce transportation time for cargo moving from Vidarbha through the Mumbai–Colombo–Dhaka route. He added that the first rake carrying Maruti cars had already commenced operations from the project.
The project is being jointly developed by National Highways Logistics Management Limited and Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority across 150 acres of land near Sindi Railway railway station. Through the dry port at Sindi Railway, cotton, cotton lint, textiles and oranges from Vidarbha will be transported directly to Bangladesh via Haldia in Kolkata, without having to travel to Mumbai. This is expected to reduce transportation costs per container from ₹1.5 lakh to ₹1 lakh, benefiting farmers in the Vidarbha region.

The Multi-Modal Logistics Park, being developed with funding provisions from the Central and State Governments on the Nagpur–Wardha district border, will be connected to the dry port at Sindi Railway. Facilities such as cold storage and warehouses will be established at the site, enabling the consolidation of major industries from Nagpur and Wardha. Exporter clusters will also be developed at the location.
With a customs office to be established at Sindi Railway, the facility will handle containers from across the country and abroad, further strengthening the region’s logistics and export infrastructure.
