Global live music market to exceed $50 billion by 2030: Omdia

Omdia’s inaugural Live Music Forecast reveals that ticket sales revenue from concerts and festivals surpassed $40 billion in 2025, and is set to hit $50 billion by 2030. While year-on-year growth was a relatively modest 2.5% in 2025, this reflects a period of stabilization following the rapid post-pandemic rebound from 2021, when global revenue stood at just $8.8 billion.

The forecast covers 51 markets alongside seven rest-of-regions with deeper analysis across 11 of the world’s largest countries. In these key markets, Omdia provides detailed breakdowns of admissions, average ticket prices, and ticket sales revenue across both festivals and concerts.
Omdia expects total paid attendance in these markets to surpass 500 million by 2027, with growth driven by rising ticket prices and increasing demand. Together, these factors will contribute to the market’s expansion through to 2030.

The US remains the most expensive for live music with average US concert ticket prices to exceed $100 by 2030. It will also continue to lead globally in attendance accounting for just over 30% of global revenue throughout the forecast period.

“Revenue from ticket sales is steadily increasing as the industry’s highest-profile tours continue to sell in record numbers, with four of the eight highest-grossing tours in history including concert dates in 2025,” said Omdia Research Analyst Tav Aujla.  “Consumers are willing to pay high prices for premium experiences, while regionally rooted genres such as K-pop and Latin music are gaining broader appeal.”

“The live music sector is in strong health and showing few signs of slowing ,” added Simon Dyson, Omdia Senior Principal Analyst, Music and Digital Audio. “Demand for shared experiences is outpacing supply, with major artist tours selling out faster than ever. Equally exciting is that emerging markets are creating new opportunities, with rising demand across Southeast Asia and Latin America opening new audiences for both local and international artist tours and events.”
