SPJIMR Launches its First Management Programme From Delhi

Mumbai, September 29, 2018 : SPJIMR has launched its first executive management programme from the Delhi campus, bringing the institute’s innovative teaching-learning pedagogy and its reputed faculty to participants based in and around the national capital.

The new offering is the Post Graduate Programme in General Management (PGP-GM), a two-year alternate weekend programme that stands as the flagship of SPJIMR’s Delhi Centre. The first batch of the programme was inaugurated on Sept. 22 with participants from companies such as HCL Technologies, One97 Communications Ltd. (Paytm), HSBC, IL&FS, Philips, along with participants from SPJIMR’s long-standing corporate partners, Mahindra & Mahindra and Cummins.

Dr. Ranjan Banerjee, Dean, SPJIMR said, “SPJIMR is known for its teaching quality, high level of industry relevance and a strong component of learning by doing. This is reflected in the success of our executive management programme in Mumbai, which has over 1500 successful alumni. The same high quality content, delivered by the same faculty is brought to you in a weekend format through the PGP-GM. Dr. Preeta George, Chairperson of the PGP-GM said, that the new programme is an offshoot of SPJIMR’s highly successful executive management programme, the PGEMP, which is now in its 17th year. The idea of launching a weekend programme in Delhi came from discussions with various stakeholders and the expansion plans for the executive programme to serve new markets, said Dr. George.

The SPJIMR Delhi Centre Head, Dr Ruppal Walia Sharma, said, “The first batch of PGP-GM is an important milestone in the journey of the SPJIMR Delhi Centre and also in the journey of each of the participants. We hope to build on our existing relationships and create a knowledge hub for academia industry integration in the heart of Delhi.”

Present at the inauguration were SPJIMR faculty members from Mumbai along with the Chief Guest Carmishtha Mitra, Vice President – Human Resources, Mahindra & Mahindra, Ashok Pradhan, Director – Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Delhi Kendra and Mr. Krishnakumar, CEO – Everest Industries Ltd., who is also an alumnus of PGEMP Batch 1.
