Kaspersky Lab and Starmus Festival continue shared goal of promoting science and education to the global community

• Starmus V brings together a stellar line-up of speakers to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the moon landings and to draw attention to the need for greater transparency and international collaboration to help solve global issues.

• Kaspersky Lab will be supporting the Festival for the third consecutive year.

The fifth edition of Starmus will be held at the ETH Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland, from June 24 – 29 2019. Prominent scientists, artists, legendary space explorers and Apollo astronauts will be attending in order to inspire and educate the next generation of great minds and explorers and regenerate the spirit of discovery. Kaspersky Lab, a supporter of the international Starmus Festival since 2016, will be bringing its mission and commitment – to Save the World.

The aim of Starmus is to inspire and educate the next generation of explorers and regenerate the spirit of discovery, with many of the lectures held at the ETH Zurich focused on the future of humanity. In line with the theme, Kaspersky Lab will be hosting a dedicated space within the festival venue to explain and consider how education, transparency, and cross-border collaboration could make the world, and cyberspace in particular, a better and safer place for all.

Kaspersky Lab believes that in an ultra-connected world, the digital future of humanity demands transparency and trust. In line with this belief, the company launched a Global Transparency Initiative in late 2017 that, among other things includes a newly opened Transparency Center in Zurich where governments and trusted partners can review information on company’s products and their security.

Commenting on the partnership, Eugene Kaspersky, CEO of Kaspersky Lab, said, “It’s exciting to continue our partnership with the Festival as it brings together distinguished scientists and artists – some of the brightest minds in the world – to talk about science and how it affects us all. And in line with our mission to save the world from cyberthreats, this conference is the ideal platform both to educate the next generation on how to protect themselves, and to get people thinking about the future. We are happy to be part of it.”

Garik Israelian, astrophysicist and founder of the Starmus Festival said, “We are glad that Kaspersky Lab, one of the leading and most future oriented cybersecurity companies, will remain our partner for the third consecutive year and join us in celebrating science. Together we can inspire more people to make new discoveries.”
