Gartner AADI Summit successfully concluded after two days of productive activity

“Gartner Application Architecture, Development & Integration Summit (AADI) 2019” concluded on 12 March, following two successful days of business dialogues, trend debates and quality networking. The event drew 450+ Delegates and 15+ exhibitors.

Gartner organized a two-days summit on Application Architecture, Development & Integration (AADI) in mumbai on 11-12 March, 2019. The 2019 edition of Gartner Application Architecture, Development & Integration Summit (AADI Summit) sucessfully concluded after two days of productive activity. This year AADI Summit primarily attracted information architects, solution architects, application architects, business architects, and technical architects. With 450+ attendees, 10+ Gartner analysts, and 30+ informative sessions, the summit serves as an important platform to gain insights from peers and interact with analysts to understand trends that are shaping up the business
landscape.

Gartner Application Architecture, Development & Integration Summit 2019 presented in-depth research, unbiased guidance and actionable strategies for application leaders who define, design and deploy modern applications.

Aashish Gupta is a Principal Analyst for the IT Leaders (ITL) team, focusing on application architecture, infrastructure and integration market for Gartner Research. His research focuses on building strategies around adoption of mesh apps and services architecture (MASA) including microservices, miniservices and macroservices (or traditional service-oriented architecture); event-driven architecture and event-driven IT; serverless platforms; container engines and container management solutions; and high control PaaS.

Just after his address in AADI Summit, Aashish Gupta, Principal Analyst Gartner sat down with Technology For You (TFY) to explain about Application Architecture, Development & Integration.

Aashish Gupta, Principal Analyst Gartner

Aashish Gupta, Principal Analyst Gartner said,  the 2019 edition of Application Architecture Development and Integration Summit is primarily for IT Leaders, information architects, solution architects, application architects, business architects, technical architects and anybody who has even remotely got to do with application development and design and integration. So most of the attendees are going to be CIO’s, V.P. of engineering that would be pure engineering application architects and guys were responsible for designing the internal structure of applications. So that’s the primary target of the summit and we at Gartner are trying to talk about all the latest trends that are out there the development phase.

Last year we had close to 320 participants attended AADI Summit. This is year two of the events and we have more than 450+ attendees. In fact it’s one of the best event on Application Architecture Development and Integration.

The major takeaways for all the attendees at AADI Summit 2019 :

• What are the latest programming languages frameworks that are out there to develop your applications.

• What are the latest architectures the way to be modern applications are designed kind of infrastructure they need to be deployed.

• What kind of application and integration technologies are used to connect these different applications.

• Modernizing Application Architecture and Infrastructure

• Re-architecting monolithic applications

• Adoption of service-oriented architecture (SOA) and delivering microservices

• Building event-driven application designs

• Implementing serverless and high control PaaS

• Manage and govern APIs through mediation

He further added that, “We are all entering into a digital business era. So when you say you’re entering into the digital business, every business needs to have applications to support their processes. So these are operating at a different scale altogether. The kind of skill that you’re operating at today requires a different approach to all these things. Beta application development architecture or integration. Because when the scale increases you can no longer have the same old practices.

Today everybody’s using mobile apps. Now Everything is digital. Everybody does all the work online only like Online Banking, Online Shopping, Online ticket booking …etc. And when you have kind of a hyper scale it increases the complexity manipulation and then there is complexity, you need new kinds of practices and new kinds of governance practices new kinds of technologies. And that’s what we are trying to focus on and trying to show people what are these new technologies what are these new best practices so that they can survive in this digital business era”.

I think all the security challenges are also going to increase manifold. Because now we are moving towards a world where everything is going to be connected to the Internet. And it’s happening now. It’s going to only increase further in the key note Matthew Hotle mentioned something really interesting that we expect 20 billion objects to be connected to the Internet. And then so many things are becoming smart and getting connected to the Internet. I.T security challenges also increase because we now have more endpoints to secure. So definitely from security point of view there are significant challenges, said Aashish Gupta, Principal Analyst Gartner.

Cyber security poses bigger threat than any other spectrum of technology. Cyber criminals have already started abusing technology controlled devices for propelling cyber-crimes such as frauds and thefts. With technology protocols, still being developed and evolving at a gradual pace, it is very difficult to avoid such cyber-attacks. IoT plays a dramatic role in shaping the future of technology in India. With IoT now becoming backbone of various ventures, firms, organization and even basic ways of living, it is worrying that India has no dedicated law for IoT and some kind of guidance can be referred from the Information Technology Act, 2000 (IT Act, 2000). The Digital India initiative is driving our country towards a digitized life where the existence will highly depend on elements like cloud computing, 5G in telecom, e-Commerce etc. it is imperative to keep a check on loose ends. Most of the apps are collectiong a lot of your information. Few security challenges that the technology space faces in cyber security are Digital Data Threat, Supply Chain Inter-connection, hacking, Phishing, Collecting data through Apps…etc. Platform as a Service (PaaS) or Application Platform as a Service (aPaaS) or platform-based service is a category of cloud computing services that provides a platform allowing customers to develop, run, and manage applications without the complexity of building and maintaining the infrastructure typically associated with developing and launching an app, he added.
