Hyderabad, India, July 23, 2026: Hyderabad based VIYONA, a fintech infrastructure startup building digital payment solutions for banks, financial institutions, enterprises, and government organisations, has received approval from the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS) to operate as a customer operating unit (COU).
This certification enables VIYONA to offer BBPS-powered bill payment services across multiple categories, including electricity, water, gas, broadband, mobile recharges, DTH subscriptions, insurance premiums, loan EMIs, educational fees, and other approved bill payments.
Furthermore, the milestone allows banks, NBFCs, fintech companies, enterprises, and government organisations to leverage VIYONA’s platform to integrate bill payment services and deliver secure payment experiences to their customers.
“Digital payments have become an integral part of everyday life, and the demand for scalable, interoperable financial infrastructure continues to grow,” said Ravindranath Yarlagadda, Founder and CEO of VIYONA Fintech.
“With the BBPS COU certification, we are expanding our ability to help banks, fintechs, enterprises, and billers deliver seamless bill payment experiences at scale. For users, this translates into a more convenient, reliable, and trusted way to manage everyday payments.” Ravindranath added.
With this latest addition, VIYONA now holds NPCI certifications across UPI Switch (Issuer and Acquirer), IMPS, Banking Connect, BOU, eKYC Setu, and BBPS COU, further strengthening its capabilities as a full-stack payments technology provider for banks, billers, and financial institutions across India.
As it expands its payments and financial infrastructure capabilities, VIYONA continues to build a technology ecosystem that connects banks, businesses, merchants, and agricultural stakeholders, helping drive broader access to digital financial services across India.
