The company that bought Portland-based FlightStats in 2016 is laying off three-dozen of its staff in Oregon as it consolidates technology operations in India and the United Kingdom.
FlightStats was a Portland startup that provided live flight tracking information to airlines, airports, travel agents and travelers. It sold its business in 2016 to a company later known as Cirium, which retained some Portland operations though all employees were working remotely.
Cirium notified Oregon workforce officials this week that it’s in the process of laying off 73 U.S. employees, mostly software engineers. Thirty-seven of those workers are in Oregon.
