The Monty Tech boys track team remained red hot with a dominant 104-32 win over Abby Kelley.
Winning events were Malakai Solley in the long jump, Ron Harris in the triple jump, Kyle Gendron in the javelin, Jack Delorey in the high jump, Felix Echavarria in the shot put and Reese Tessier in the discus.
Also placing first for Monty (5-1) were Max DuPont in the two mile, Colin Locke in the mile, Asher Hall in the 400, Jose Vera in the 400 hurdles and Evan Locke in the 800.
Baseball
Ayer-Shirley 5, Lunenburg 4: Lunenburg was headed to a Mid-Wach victory when the host Panthers scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings.
Then Ayer-Shirley won the game in the eighth when Troy Leighton singled home Matt Marchand with the winning run. Leighton went 4-for-4 with a triple for the Panthers (15-2). Dylan Gibbons captured the win in relief with 4.2 scoreless innings.
Girls lacrosse
Monty Tech 13, Fitchburg 1: The Bulldogs had no trouble collecting the win over their cross-town rival.
St. Bernard’s 7, NT 6: The Bernardians posted an impressive narrow victory over Nashoba Tech of Westford, which has won a program-record 12 games. St. B’s allowed four goals to Samantha Richards but made clutch plays to net the win.
Boys lacrosse
Nashoba 17, Groton-Dunstable 6: Dillon Kelleher netted five goals and added one assist to power the Wolves to the rout.
Also having big offensive days for Nashoba (11-4, 8-0 league) were Ryan Sweeney (4 goals, assist), Zach Dahill (3 goals) and Jack Schartner (2 goals, 3 assists).
Girls tennis
Notre Dame 5, Leominster 0: Despite several strong performances, the Blue Devils fell to the Worcester school.
At No. 3 singles, Madelyn Newton fell 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5 tiebreaker) in a tough battle. Alaina Garcia battled at No. 1 singles before dropping a 6-4, 6-3 decision for Leominster (8-7, 6-3 Mid-Wach B).
Nashoba 5, Grafton 0: The Wolves swept singles matches thanks to the strong play of Thais Stanzione (8-0), Grace Hanley (9-7) and Emily Skaar (8-0) en route to the win.
Completing the sweep at doubles for Nashoba (5-10) were the teams of Audrey Russell/Allison Mortimer (8-2) and Lily Robinson/Sadie Garr (8-0).
Algonquin 4, Nashoba 1: Thais Stanzione was terrific at No. 1 singles, but Nashoba Regional (4-10) fell to a strong Algonquin (10-5) team. Stanzione captured a 6-1, 3-6, 11-9 marathon victory.
