Dr. Amrita Vohra was Felicitated With ‘Leaders – Pillars in Education’ Award at North India Educators Summit

PUNE, IndiaSeptember 12, 2018 : Dr. Amrita Vohra – Director Principal, GIIS Pune was felicitated with the Leaders – Pillars in Education Award at the North India Educators Summit 2018 organized by Education Today. This function was held at the Taj City Centre Gurugram on 8th September, 2018. Dr. Vohra, a well-known face in the field of education was felicitated for her immense contribution and also for bringing about phenomenal change in the field of education. She is known for her individual development plans for each student which assesses their growth and development. To make the plan a success, class teachers take responsibility of personally mentoring each student in realizing their projected goals. This practice allows students to set their own goals that keep them motivated. Another pioneering property implemented by Dr. Vohra at GIIS Chinchwad is the student led conferences that is a platform for students to collaborate for integrated learning and present it to the parents. It escalates the learning when students are involved in research, exploration, inquiry eventually collating it to present, honing the confidence and public speaking of the children.

This prestigious summit was attended by some of the best minds in the field of education which included Cdr Dr. Kartikay Saini (Chairman, Scottish High International School), Ms. Shyama Chona (Founder-President of Tamana Association), Ms. Abha Adams (Advisor – Step by Step School), the veterans of the education sector. The brightest minds with a vision for education shared ideas and thoughts on topics like uniformity in curriculum across schools in India and if making NCERT books compulsory a justified proposition.

The ceremony was attended by over 350 delegates and included around 150 individual school decision makers along with Chairman/ Directors and Principals from all over India. The conference was followed by the School Merit Awards in the K-12 Sector.
